Top 5 Tweets That Are Perfectly Relatable In Quarantine Life

‘Coronavirus’ and ‘COVID-19’ were terms that no one was familiar with. But flash forward to Spring of 2020, and it is everywhere. The term ‘coronavirus’ has been searched for a total of eight billion times on Google and talked about four hundred and sixty-eight million times on Twitter. We hear it when we turn on the news in the morning, we hear it when we’re searching for groceries in the aisles, and we see it when our towns and cities have become ghost towns.

However, Coronavirus has also completely come and uprooted our lives. Schools canceled, work closed, and for many people, living situations have completely changed as they have had to relocate for health and safety reasons. Due to this, a generation will forever remember a period of time in their lives where the entire world was on quarantine. But, where there is loneliness and boredom, there are dark humor Tweets that will temporarily fill the void in our hearts.

Here, Twitter user @_4L3X1 perfectly encapsulates the experience many college students may be going through at this time. Ever had a crush in your Government class and meticulously planned your outfit every day and strategized how you were going to pass their desk so they were forced to glance at you? No? I’ll keep that to myself…

Twitter user @CharlotteXavi also shares a story about what it’s like to be in quarantine. For many different parts of the United States, cities are on complete lockdown in order to keep people from socializing and mass-gathering, however, what seemed like a lockdown of merely three weeks, had turned into another three weeks, another three weeks, another three weeks, and another three weeks…

And even though quarantine life brings us many moments of isolation, this doesn’t mean that productivity levels have skyrocketed. Scrolling on social media and being on the news, you see so many think pieces and articles written about how to best use the time in your quarantine life, however, sometimes it’s just not that easy. And Twitter user, @AmnaNaqvi12 memes this perfectly with a photo of a blank piece of paper.

You’ve seen schools close, workplaces close, restaurants close…but what happens when salons close? Quarantine life is very much different than normal life, but what can greatly divide these two experiences is the lack of personal appearance, and Twitter user @hamsterowner shares these conflicting feelings with a Pirates of the Caribbean meme.

Last but not least, quarantine has affected our dating life as well. Feel bored? Bake cookies! Wanting to feel entertained? Watch Tiger King on Netflix! Hungry? Snack on those chocolate raisins again with no shame! Feeling bored again? Uhh..download Tinder! This thought has crossed my mind a few times because perhaps boredom has gotten to the best of us. However, will there be more ghosts and ghostees in this dating match? Most likely, yes, and Twitter user @_softspacegay_ dishes on this experience.

While we live through an unprecedented time and continue to support our family and friends through difficult times, it’s also important to laugh about the little things in life and spread positivity on our timelines. And if it’s getting in a laugh from a Pirates of the Caribbean meme posted to Twitter, then so be it.
