Candidate For Travis Democratic Party Chair Drops Out Due To Old Facebook Posts

Mike Lewis, a Travis Democratic Party chair candidate, dropped out after a website published old Facebook posts he made against the party’s agenda.

 

“I am embarrassed and ashamed by several of the statements from my past” Lewis said in a statement.

 

The announcement came not long after Rick Cofer, the prior sole candidate, dropped out of the race.

 

The site therealmikelewis.com argues Lewis’ posts show him “supporting Republicans and segregationists” along with other people and issues counter to the Democratic movement.

 

Lewis acknowledged he has not always been a democrat, as posts on the website reflect.
