Early Friday morning a homeless man, identified as Christopher Crowley, threatened to kill a UT student after she refused to give him money.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, the student, Quinn Snyder, was walking to campus at the 400 block of West 21st Street and Guadalupe Street near the Harry Ransom Center, when Crowley ran toward her. He asked for money and when she refused, he told her, “don’t make me take you to an ATM to get $30 out.”

When Snyder tried walking away, Crowley grabbed her backpack and said, “I am going to kill you.”

Snyder was able to get away once a vehicle drove up to intervene, but Crowley still continued to follow her and yell, “Don’t call the police on me … When I kill someone for money it will be your fault.”

The UTPD Campus Watch report detailed the search and arrest of Crowley, where officials identified him at the Starbucks at 24th and San Antonio streets.
