With finals coming up, our stress and anxiety levels are probably already through the roof. It is important to not drown yourself in misery during this time.

Give yourself some time to relieve the stress with these tips from burnt x to keep you stress-free and give you a little push of motivation.

1. Work out
Go out for a run or hit the gym and release all the stress built up in your body. Exercising is known to reduce stress since it produces endorphins. Doing this will ease your mind and body and let you forget about all of the tears you will probably shed within these next two weeks.

2. Read a good book!
Refrain from reading your textbooks! That is no fun at all. Pick up your favorite book or comic book and take yourself on journey. You’re stuck at home or in a library dreading studying anyway. Read something that makes you feel as if you’re somewhere wonderful with nothing but joy and happiness.

3. Meditate
Turn on some beach wave sounds or wilderness music that will help you relax. Close your eyes and envision yourself in a good state of mind somewhere you wish you could be. Take this time to block out any negativity you may be thinking and neglect the thought of exams. Simply relax.

4. Dance
If you ever watched Grey’s Anatomy, do what Meredith and Cristina would do, DANCE IT OUT! Pump up the volume of your speakers and play Juvenile’s “Back That Ass Up.” Just kidding. But really, turn something on that will put you in a good mood and get your body moving. Dance out all that stress and let your anxiety fly away.
