Austin City Limits ’16 Tips And Tricks
It’s time to find your festival attire and buy some sunblock, because Austin City Limits 2016 Weekend One starts this Friday.
If you’re one of those lucky souls who could afford a wristband and you haven’t mapped out what stage you’re gonna hop to first or where you plan to grab some merch or food, fear no more. ACL’s website has a list of what’s new to ACL and helpful tips to guide you through the best weekend ever.
First things first – what are the new additions to ACL Fest?
1. More CamelBak Hydration Stations and Misting Stations!
Buying overpriced water is a sad reality that comes with outdoor concerts/festivals, but ACL has been kind enough to make sure all festival goers don’t go dehydrated. This year more water bottle filling stations have been added so make sure to bring an empty reusable bottle to get yourself some free TRIPLE FILTERED water! And if you feel yourself getting overheated while dancing to your favorite performers, make sure to top by the misting stations. Stay cool bbys.
2. ACL Festival Store (and FAVOR Delivery!)
Waiting in crowds outside the hot merch tent is no longer necessary because of the new AIR CONDITIONED ACL Festival Store. Exclusive ACL merch will now be at your disposal and customers will be able to shop at their own pace for a “true retail experience”. After shopping for t-shirts and souvenirs, if you don’t want to carry your new look around the park, Favor will deliver it to you! (Make sure to visit the Favor counter inside the Store for more info!)
3. 15th Anniversary Guestbook
Be a part of ACL History and sign their giant guestbook celebrating 15 years of awesome music at Zilker.
Tips from ACL
1. Activate Wristband and Sign Up For Cashless
Make sure to activate your wristband so your wristband stays yours! After activating it, consider signing up for ACL Cashless where you link payment information to your wristband if you prefer not to carry around cash that you might lose. With ACL Cashless, it is as easy as a tap of your wristband to get awesome merch or great food.
2. Transportation to ACL
There isn’t any parking at ACL, so the best bets to get to the festival quick and easy are the complimentary shuttle buses at Republic Square at the corner of 4th & Guadalupe. The bus will drop off on Barton Springs Road where festival staff will lead you to the festival gates. But if buses aren’t your style, there are bike racks at each of the festival entrance gates. (Don’t forget your lock!)
3. Download the Official ACL Festival Mobile App
With the ACL Mobile App, you can map out your own custom schedule. Make sure to turn on your push notifications so that you can keep updated with schedule changes and emergency information!
