UT Student Predicted Her Olympic Future In A Tweet Five Years Ago
Most people receive embarrassing reminders from Timehop—including old romances or embarrassing middle school pictures and posts.
But University of Texas student Morolake Akinosun had a completely different experience.
Approximately five years ago, Akinosun tweeted that in the year 2016, she would be graduating from college and competing in the Olympics. These were huge goals for a then 17-year-old; however Akinosun, now 22, is now scheduled to graduate from UT in December and is racing in the Olympic women’s 4×100-meter relay August 18.
Akinosun had forgotten her tweet until Timehop recalled this post. She then revisited the tweet by telling her followers that she had accomplished her goals.
I tweeted that 5 years ago.
I graduate from Texas in December.
I'm going to the Olympics next week. https://t.co/vusyh5G5Y3

People on Twitter were amazed at not only her accomplishments, but her uncanny ability to predict and pursue them. Her tweet gained wide recognition with approximately 210,000 retweets and 380,000 favorites.

“I put in a lot, a lot, a lot of hard work over the course of the five years, and I went after my dream,” Akinosun said.
