God bless America.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to bring down the house at this year’s SXSW Festival, scheduled to take place from March 11-20.

This is the first time in the festival’s 30-year history that a current president and first lady will participate.

CEO and Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Tribune Evan Smith will discuss civic engagement with President Obama on Friday, March 11. First Lady Michelle Obama will discuss her Let Girls Learn initiative that aims to help the 62 million girls around the world who aren’t in school today on Wednesday, March 16 at SXSW Music.

“I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate our event’s 30th year than to welcome both the President and First Lady to SXSW,” said Co-founder Roland Swenson in a SXSW news release. “As each new generation comes up at SXSW they look for ways they can be of service, and it’s important to reflect and support that message. President and Mrs. Obama’s visit here will inspire attendees to that purpose.”
